Malala Yousafzai: revolutionary heroine
Young Pakistani rights activist Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head Oct. 9 at her school in the Swat Valley, is fighting for her life in a Peshawar hospital and will be sent abroad for urgent medical treatment following emergency surgery. The Taliban claimed responsibility, accusing her of "promoting Western culture" and expressing admiration for Barack Obama. But left-wing Pakistani blogs show this photo of Malala speaking at a podium displaying a poster with the faces of Lenin and Trotsky, and the red-flag logo of the International Marxist Tendency. The photo was apparently taken at "a National Marxist School held in Swat."
