Most people choose not to waste too much time with state propaganda in these kind of situations, except to check the "official" view or maybe for black humour purposes (e.g. Saddam's Information Minister). However, I have found it is worth wading through the crap to get details of pro-government strategies and of particular personalities. I did the same with Burma a few months back.
The inconvenient facts and unanswered questions surrounding the attacks are legion, but the endemic sloppiness of the self-styled "researchers" is delegitimizing the entire project of critiquing the "official version." The ostentatiously named "Truth movement" is not clearing the air, but muddying the water.
