this is what i find so ludicrous of people who argue the point of codices and what not having depictions of supposed sacrifices, as if the so called experts on ancient cultures couldn't possibly get anything wrong. the Maya and the Mexikah are known to have done open heart surgery, as well as the Inca and others. how do these experts on my culture know that what they're looking at isn't a documentation of that; or something else, like an execution of a criminal. i like what the now deceased Dr. Vine Deloria Jr. (RIP) quoted in one of his books, "science does not have a monopoly on the truth."
